Integrate advanced C into D and finish the remaining review gates

Reconcile D with the C base that advanced during validation, preserve the verified fixes, then finish owner approval and the required remote check. D is pushed at16671ef with16/16 targeted and370/370 full first-attempt passes; current Cda9 causes conflicts and the remote check has no run.

New C base conflicts with tested D head; required remote check has no run. Setup-only commit remains awaiting owner approval before merge.

Handoff: Integrate advanced C into D and finish the remaining review gates

Written 2026-10-27 09:07 UTC.

RE-VERIFY: This is a write-time snapshot. Check the full-suite run and download its XML; query both PRs and git ls-remote before acting. No merge, enqueue or production action is authorized.

Current state

Round 7 fixes A/B/C are complete and pushed to the open D review at 16671efc84e87edf4c5e51a2ced38053eea4dffd. Targeted runner attempts16/16 and full-suite first attempts370/370 pass with no retries. The setup-only commit remains explicitly awaiting owner approval; the PR description starts with the required approval line.

Two later gates remain. C advanced during validation from tested ba04c64 to da9ae906f36d015a453cb5254e6e8c75e84c62f8; GitHub now reports mergeable=false / mergeable_state=dirty. Reconcile that new base and verify the resulting head before relying on integration. The required kotlin.build (remote) check has no dispatched run; only bld-build is complete/success. Tracked build-watchman0.0.21 ended IDLE_TIMEOUT(exit5) without warming, rerequesting or changing production. The round stops at the requested boundary; no new rebase/verification cycle was started.

All lane-owned build/test/watch processes exited, checked with ps -eo pid, args -ww and process working directories. Deleted this clone's 632 MB kompile cache, jars/launcher and clean-source restoration backups. Other lanes untouched. No merge/enqueue, artifact publication or production mutation.

Design decisions in force

2026-10-27 round7 instructions, verbatim:

  • "Three pieces of work, all in this round; do not stop after one"
  • "Change ONLY the test's setup" and "keeping every UTF-8 assertion, count and byte check intact and equally strict."
  • "Put this in its own commit whose message says test-setup change awaiting owner approval: <reason>."
  • "Never raise the bound."
  • "Never raise the 30 s limit, cut iterations or shrink inputs."
  • "Do NOT run timing gates or full suites locally. Use GitHub runners instead"
  • "If you find that another existing test's assertion would have to change, do NOT change it: write the case in findings.md and continue with the rest."
  • "Never merge or enqueue. Push a checkpoint at every commit."
  • "Production is read-only: no restart, deploy, upload or route update."

Mission summary

The operator requested a conversation info card (supervisor, conversation id, start/last-update times, PR status/links and handoffs) and a status timeline on https://aiclisupervisor.wasmserver.com/conversation. The original implementation scanned 11 MB of transcript on each page view and was rolled back. Chunk D adds one shared incremental reader and timeline fold on top of C's persisted store, following Slow Services. This round started from fd677d9, whose supplied runner had 362/368 first-attempt passes.

What was found and done

  1. UTF-8 setup: round5 removed conversation-owned copies of supervisor names by design. The old test renamed the supervisor and then looked up its former name key, so it returnedzero rows instead of exercising stored encoding. Separate setup-only commit 1a87ce6 supplies the same 512x + lone D800 + 512z through a transcript ai-title cwd and reads conversation-owned persisted catalog TEXT. The UTF8 assertion/count/byte-check block is byte-for-byte unchanged. Real code passes; a never-committed local mutation that trusted the original JSON tree after lossy UTF8 encoding fails at the public TEXT reader with invalid Unicode at index512. Owner approval of the setup change remains required before merge.

  2. Backfill: D added catalog-owner admission during backfill event application. One turn decoded 200 scan rows,200 catalog-admission rows and200 pending-selection rows, totaling 600 against the unchanged 500-row bound. The fix returns at most 200 already-decoded rows from the scan and reuses them within the same durable access only for matching supervisor/id/pending version. Old pending rows still use keyed reads. No event/replay/cursor/count callback or test bound changed. Fix.

  3. Cleanup slowdown: D's adjusted fixtures supply large transcript-owned gitBranch text (450,000 bytes;65,535 in replaced-version), causing multiple 65 KB slices per rewrite. Each slice serialized the expanded 512-cell overview into the parser checkpoint and reparsed a display copy. The new work test on exactfd baseline fails on its intended assertion: 7 checkpoints total 703,746 bytes, each 99,625–100,687 bytes. Fix uses the existing lossless bucket-run encoding for fold checkpoints and restores exact grid cells on resume; public header coalescing remains separate. Display snapshots detach containers without a JSON-string round trip. The same test now passes at <=16,384 checkpoint bytes/slice while checking every 450,000 metadata byte, exact totals and restart output.

  4. Review gap: independent code review passes. Independent test review required a later timed append after reopening a compacted grid. Added scenario compares saved-grid resume plus widening with one full ingestion, deep-compares every bucket/timeline field, and checks a no-new-byte confirmation. A never-committed local wrong-coalescing decoder fails exactly at bucket equality; real code passes. All independent reviews now pass.

  5. Base rule: the requested stack is Cba04c64 and Dfd677d9. An attempted general latest-main rebase brought in a new file-handle persistence seam fromdfce350 and broke sink observers, requiring unrelated fixture edits across71files and replacing C history. That attempt was reverted; none of it is in the final branch. The explicit requested fd/C baseline is preserved. C was freshly verifiedOPEN atba04c64 at08:44UTC. No other existing assertion was changed.

Next steps

  1. Re-verify live PR and branch state first. D is https://github.com/CodexCoder21Organization/AiCliSupervisorManagerEmbedded/pull/48; C is https://github.com/CodexCoder21Organization/AiCliSupervisorManagerEmbedded/pull/47. The prior final proof applies to head16671ef on testedCba04c64, not to a future integrated head.
  2. Reconcile D with advanced Cda9ae906f36d015a453cb5254e6e8c75e84c62f8 (or the then-current C head), preserve both sets of fixes, and verify the resulting exact head. Do not treat the existing370/370 result as proof of that later integration. Preserve all test bounds, inputs and iterations.
  3. The owner must review the setup-only commit1a87ce68dcf597670862eb836ef6941d4bc8e8aa. Keep the first line Do not merge: awaiting owner approval of the test-setup change in https://github.com/CodexCoder21Organization/AiCliSupervisorManagerEmbedded/commit/1a87ce68dcf597670862eb836ef6941d4bc8e8aa until approval is actually recorded. No merge/enqueue was authorized for this round.
  4. Once the shared build service recovers, watch the required kotlin.build (remote) check with build-watchman0.0.21 as a tracked job. Do not infer a remote pass from the successful GitHub runner suite. Current no-run/idle result and moving-C conflict are recorded in the PR description and final evidence. No production action is implied.

Operational knowledge

Use ~/bin/coursier, never /usr/local/bin/coursier. The user forbids local timing gates/full suites because other host tenants prevent useful wallclock conclusions. Disk was 61 GB free before the final local target; check >=3 GB before any build. Tests use real in-process daemon/manager with isolated filesystems and hardware-independent work assertions. No mocks/reflection. The v1 source contract uses a boundary window and does not detect arbitrary earlier rewrites.

BLOCKED for integration — 2026-10-27 09:08 UTC. The assigned round is complete: fix the UTF-8 setup, backfill row budget and cleanup slowdown, verify them on runners, update the existing review and leave it unmerged.

All three fixes are pushed to https://github.com/CodexCoder21Organization/AiCliSupervisorManagerEmbedded/pull/48 at16671efc84e87edf4c5e51a2ced38053eea4dffd. Targeted first attempts pass16/16. The exact-head full suite passes370/370 first attempts,0failures,370totalattempts: https://github.com/CodexCoder21Organization/AiCliSupervisorManagerEmbedded/actions/runs/40475222252. Focused cleanup entries are6.8–8.8s; full-suite entries are21.8–24.2s, recorded separately.

PR state freshly verified OPEN and unmerged. C advanced during validation to da9ae906f36d015a453cb5254e6e8c75e84c62f8, so GitHub reports mergeable=false / dirty against the new base. The370/370 proof is against the suppliedCba04c64 base; no claim is made for the later integration. The required kotlin.build(remote) check has no dispatched run, and build-watchman0.0.21 ended IDLE_TIMEOUT(exit5). No warmup/rerequest was attempted during the service recovery.

The UTF-8 test now reaches persisted conversation text while retaining its exact assertions and rejecting a deliberately broken encoding path. Backfill reuses version-matching decoded rows within its turn. Lossless compact checkpoints and detached display copies remove repeated expanded-grid JSON work, with a separate mutation-proven grid-resume/widening test.

Delegated work at a glance: backfill implementation — luna max, finished and reviewed; code review — luna max, finished PASS; test review — luna max, finished PASS after the missing continuation case was added and proved. No delegated work remains active. Root owns and reviewed the integrated result.

Blockers for subsequent integration: reconcile the advanced C base, obtain owner approval of setup-only commit1a87ce68dcf597670862eb836ef6941d4bc8e8aa before merge, and get the required remote check running/green. The PR's first line keeps the exact approval marker requested in the brief. No merge/enqueue/publish/deploy occurred. All lane-owned background processes exited, checked withps, and the clone's cache/launcher outputs were deleted.

No unnecessary holds. No idle landing gates within this stopped round. Owner direction captured: none new; stopping follows the requested clean-suite/open-review/watch boundary rather than starting a new moving-base rebase cycle.

Next steps: reconcile D with the then-current C head and verify that integrated head, then finish the owner review and required remote check without treating the old-base proof as new-base validation.

Lessons: Fixtures must use data the projection still owns while preserving the assertions that identify the original defect. Count serialized checkpoint work as well as new source bytes, because bounded state copied per slice can dominate ingestion. Restart tests need an independent full-ingestion control plus later state changes, so two equally wrong restore paths cannot agree and hide a decoder error.
