Handoff: Watch remaining remote CI for the rebased conversation projection store
Updated 2026-10-27 10:13 UTC.
RE-VERIFY: this is a write-time snapshot. Check the current PR with gh pr view https://github.com/CodexCoder21Organization/AiCliSupervisorManagerEmbedded/pull/47 --json state, headRefOid,mergeStateStatus, statusCheckRollup, mergedAt, and check branch SHAs with git ls-remote. The current session is still watching until 2026-10-27 10:51:55 UTC; do not start a duplicate watch while its claim is active.
Design decisions in force
User requirements, dated 2026-10-27:
- “built as a persisted incremental projection” with “bounded work per append, per page view and per restart.” This retains the manager-owned store direction; it does not authorize new WUI scans.
- “Resolve the conflicts so that BOTH behaviours hold: everything PR 50 guarantees ... AND everything chunk C does.” The referenced durability change is https://github.com/CodexCoder21Organization/AiCliSupervisorManagerEmbedded/pull/50 and the store change is https://github.com/CodexCoder21Organization/AiCliSupervisorManagerEmbedded/pull/47.
- “A test that passes only on retry is a failure: investigate and fix it.”
- “Never raise a timeout, cut iteration counts, weaken assertions, or skip tests.”
- “Do NOT merge or enqueue any PR; the orchestrator decides merges.” This overrides any older skill/readme merge exception.
- “Production is read-only: no restart, deploy, upload or route update.”
- “Only if the check suite shows ‘queued with zero runs’ may you warm the receiver and rerequest that one suite, once.” That single allowance has already been consumed for suite 109698587432.
- “continue watching the remote check for up to 2 hours. If buildtest is still down at that point, stop and say so; do not rerun anything blindly.” The active watch has the fixed deadline above.
Mission summary
The operator asked for a conversation info card and status timeline at https://aiclisupervisor.wasmserver.com/conversation, including supervisor/conversation identity, times, PR links/status and Handoff links. An initial page-view transcript scan was rolled back. The manager now owns the persisted incremental projection, following https://github.com/CodexCoder21Organization/DocumentationRepository/blob/main/playbooks/SLOW_SERVICES.md. This lane was asked only to rebase the already reviewed store PR onto the new durability change, preserve both sets of guarantees, re-verify, push and watch CI without merging. Code, tests, push and description are complete. Only the remote CI check remains unresolved.
What was found and done
- Started from the reviewed old store head, cloned fresh, and rebased all 51 commits onto main's interrupted-write change.
- Resolved three conflicts in
ConversationMetadataStore.kt: retained deleteStateFile and callbacks when building a replacement, retained complete-frame verification/acknowledgement, and retained detached/prepared event reuse plus work counters. The original durability invariant is that accepted writes/commits and cleanup survive caller interruption, preserve its interrupt flag, remain usable by clean callers and survive reopening. This adds no fsync-backed power-loss promise. Insights uses the same metadata event and MapDB redo paths.
- Added two deterministic public API interruption tests with a real in-process daemon and real system filesystem. The event test failed with Expected AVAILABLE, actual NEVER_LOADED after restoring the old event sink. The redo test failed with Expected 0, actual 3409 event JSON decode bytes on reopening after restoring the old redo sink. Snapshot equality alone had passed that redo experiment because the complete event could replay; the work-count assertion exposed the missing commit. The final source uses the inherited durable helpers; no temporary old-IO mutation was committed.
- Moved 20 affected fixture files / 21 probe sites from obsolete stream interception to the actual FileHandle boundary, preserving assertions, partial-frame positions, halts, timeouts and counts. Added a positive-write assertion to the byte-budget test. Aligned the 22 tests newly inherited from main to this branch's API 0.0.19 / FakeFileSystem 3.4.0.2 pins.
- Targeted local tests passed 5/5 on first attempt. The full local attempt stopped during preparation at load 16.40 under the user's guard, with no test verdict. The authorized exact-head GitHub runner passed 351/351 first attempt, zero failures/retries/duplicate test entries; all 23 build rules succeeded, verified from its own XML.
- Re-fetched/rebased immediately before push; main was unchanged and the tested SHA stayed the same. Confirmed the PR was OPEN on the expected old head, pushed with an explicit force-with-lease, and verified the remote SHA. Preserved its why-first description and appended a linked Rebased onto the durability change section with counts. The older
gh pr edit failed on deprecated repository.pullRequest.projectCards; REST PATCH with a JSON body file succeeded.
- The PR's own bld-build run is also green. Latest verified PR state: OPEN, unmerged, UNSTABLE, at the source SHA in the table. The remaining
kotlin.build (remote) check is in progress with only https://kotlin.build as its link; there is no identified buildtest run URL. The brief reported buildtest unavailable during startup-journal replay; this lane has not diagnosed or modified that service.
- The watcher found app suite 109698587432 queued with zero runs. API verification confirmed that condition before and after three bounded receiver GETs. The one permitted rerequest succeeded, and later verification showed one in-progress check run. This proves dispatch, not execution. Do not rerequest again under this brief.
- The exact requested build-watchman 0.0.21 command is running as a tracked PID with a two-hour hard deadline. No
--to-merged, merge, enqueue, deployment, restart or route change occurred. Local lane build caches and generated launchers were deleted after verification.
Relevant PRs / refs
All branch SHAs above were checked with git ls-remote. The source checkout and evidence worktree were clean; no stashes or local-only commits remained. No code/artifact was deployed or published by this lane, and no code from this effort is live outside GitHub CI. No PR was merged or enqueued. The test XML and generated build outputs are deliberately not committed: the user prohibits committing build/test artifacts. The runner XML was available in its test-results-1 artifact; the durable text verification record records the exact counts and red/green observations. Final regression source is in the PR branch, so no local helper script is required to resume.
Next steps
- Re-verify the current PR/head/checks first. Do not repeat completed tests merely because a new session picked this up.
- If this session still owns the claim and its watch is active, let that bounded watch finish. Otherwise run, as a tracked process with a hard deadline:
~/bin/coursier launch buildwatchman:build-watchman:0.0.21 -r https://kotlin.directory -- --repo CodexCoder21Organization/AiCliSupervisorManagerEmbedded --pr 47 --check 'kotlin.build (remote)'. Never use --to-merged and never enqueue or merge.
- The single queued-zero-runs receiver warm/rerequest has been used. A fresh check with a generic URL is not proof of a live executor; identify an actual buildtest run before claiming it is running.
- At the active deadline, record exact check state and stop if the remote service/check remains unavailable; do not blindly rerun. If the check finishes green earlier, record it and finish. Any new failing test must be reproduced locally and fixed at its cause, without loosening assertions/timeouts.
- Finish the lane's local
out/final.md with source SHA, conflicts, 351/351 first-attempt result and CI state. Stop every owned watcher, release this claim on a blocked stop, or complete/archive the handoff if the watch succeeds. Keep the PR open and unmerged.
Operational knowledge
- Use
~/bin/coursier; /usr/local/bin/coursier is not the permitted launcher on this host.
- GitHub CLI is old:
gh run list --event is unsupported, and gh pr edit queries a retired Projects field. Use REST workflow-run filtering and REST PATCH with a structured JSON body file.
- The linked legacy PlanRepository handoff README still contains retired merge instructions. This skill's current central-service flow has no PR, and this user explicitly forbids all merges/enqueues. Do not use the legacy merge section.
- Testing guidance was read at https://github.com/CodexCoder21Organization/DocumentationRepository/blob/main/architecture/TESTING.md. The API contract at https://github.com/CodexCoder21Organization/AiCliSupervisorManagerApi/blob/main/docs/conversation-insights-v1.md supersedes the original design on observer/source-proof scope: snapshot/pages only and BOUNDARY_WINDOW verification.
- This body is a snapshot. The live check/service state may change; no claim about the root cause of the remote outage is made here.
Latest read-only service evidence
At 10:12 UTC, a single bounded, size-limited read of https://buildtest.kotlin.build/api/runs?limit=1 returned HTTP 503 with dataState: UNKNOWN and the message: “The current build run list is unknown: the coordinator page read is still in progress.” The remote check has empty external_id, null output fields and only the generic kotlin.build URL. No executor can be identified for log-file inspection; no deeper cause is claimed. No additional rerequest, deletion or service change followed. The current session continues the original bounded watch.
The automatic usage upload on the first status report selected the launcher's parent conversation and is not a measurement of this Codex lane. Subsequent lane reports deliberately use --no-usage; the narrative/code/test evidence is authoritative.
